Triumph Glasgow kept bikers entertained throughout the entire weekend for Triumph’s Annual Dealer Open Weekend: T-Fest 2019 which took place on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12thMay 2019 at Triumph Glasgow.
The weekend kick started on Saturday morning when the dealership opened their doors and unleashed an array of offers including the up-to 85% clearance on factory accessories! The state-of-the-art showroom was quickly packed full of men and women of all ages, bikers and non-bikers alike eager to take part in the T-Fest weekend celebrations.
At 12noon a Workshop Tour commenced, with around 30 pre-booked ticket holders guided around the £150,000 workshop by Triumph Glasgow Managing Director, Martin Rees. Rees showcased some of the investment and high-tech facilities within the workshop including the ambient air control, under-floor exhaust-extraction system and even the magnetic tool drawers and bespoke equipment which was designed and built specifically.
Rees also lead a group of 20 keen bikers through a Motorcycle Maintenance Class, providing hints and tips on essential winter checks, suspension set ups, how to check and clean your brakes as well as answering questions from the group.
David McDonald, who attended the class commented, “It’s all useful information - even an experienced biker like me, I’ve learnt a few tricks here. And everyone wants to know more!”
Test rides on the 2019 Triumph range, in particular the brand-new Triumph Speed Twin and the ever-popular Bonneville Bobber, headed out throughout the sunny weekend, and on the Saturday afternoon the day was topped off by a group ride out on the demonstrator bikes, led by the staff from Triumph Glasgow.
John Rough, a customer who test rode the Street Triple RS during the group ride-out added, “What an excellent bike! Wow! And it was a really good route too, and great advice from the group leader, I really appreciated the feedback and the opportunity to test ride such an amazing bike!”
On the Sunday, there was a queue at the door even before the showroom opened their doors! Geared up motorcycle owners were keen to showcase their bikes for the Custom and Classic Competition which had a huge range of prizes available for winners with gift sets worth over £100! All makes and models of motorcycles were welcomedto take part in the competition, and the glorious sunshine brought out accessory enthusiasts and vintage owners alike. With everything from custom painted Triumph Rocket III’s, to fully restored Norton Commando’s and accessorised Ducati Scramblers, there was something on show for everyone.
Judging for the Best Classic and Best Custom Motorcycle was decided by Rees, who selected some intricate custom builds, with paintwork to match! The overall winner was Jason Black with his show-stopping Triumph Bobber, which proudly stated a green and gold snake skin theme, was covered in hand-built extras and definitely a worthy winner!
The Triumph Owners Motorcycle Club Glasgow were also in attendance with their own stand showcasing their members incredible bikes. Visitors popped into their gazebo for some friendly banter, talked all things Triumph and got a list of the club’s up-coming runs and events.
Triumph Glasgow also had the impressive Tiger range on display, with staff listing the technical features and providing demonstrations on how to set the specification to suit the riders. Now with more power, more technology and more attitude than ever, the Tiger range, including the 1050 Sport, 800 and 1200 models are the most advanced and sophisticated adventure bikes Triumph has ever built, and even come with free panniers as part of a limited offer!
Rees commented “What a great weekend! It’s so satisfying being able to host a weekend-long party for our customers and visitors. Being able to show the public around our workshop, getting to see all their classic bikes, spend time with our owner’s club and give back to the motorcycling community with special offers - it’s such a fun environment to be in. TFest isn’t just for Triumph enthusiasts, it’s a festival to celebrate all things iconic in the motorcycling lifestyle, which we definitely did!”
