"WE NEED A PHENOMENAL STORY"

OUR INSPIRATION: 1: RESEARCH

Image

We revisited the Triumph Factory.

Identified the creative skills of our
first-class team and where these
skills could be applied.

Reviewed the brief with acute
attention to detail.

Reviewed our previous custom
projects and analysed results.

Image

We went back in time to 1901 / 1902

Took note of both Triumph and non-Triumph accessories used

Took note of the creativity on show

Compared customisation with the

available skills within our team

Image

We were inspired by the Triumph No.1 and it's following featues:

Build started in 1901
, “Clipped on” design
, Custom built brackets, Original engineering
, A single seat set-up
, Short cut stainless exhaust
. We decided to use the above as a base for our custom Bobber ideas.

OUR INSPIRATION: 2: DEVELOPMENT

Image

WE REVISITED PREVIOUS DESIGN CHALLENGES

In 2014 a challenge emerged within Triumph Motorcycles where their community of designers and engineers undertook a challenge to create a vision of the ultimate Triumph custom build. Two teams were formed, and two fully-functioning prototypes were meticulously designed, engineered, and hand-built.

The result was two of the most beautiful Triumphs ever created; a Bobber and a Scrambler, known as TFC1 and TFC2. Both displaying stunning custom engineering innovation, exquisite curves, and an aesthetic that showcased the incredible potential of in-house custom Triumph builds.

LOOKED AT WHAT OTHERS HAVE DONE

Essenza – Turbo Bobber.

Essenza calls the motorcycle manufacturers and importers into the arena. Essenza is looking for a direct comparison of the motorcycle manufacturer and the talented independent teams – a couple of motorsports enthusiasts and custom motorcycle builders who join this professional league.

All participants design their vehicles in cooperation with popular bike builders to create individual puristic pieces. The bikes enter a design competition: judged by a professional jury and by the public. Eventually, there will be two winners at Essenza: the fastest motorcycle and the best designed bike.

FOUND HOME CONNECTIONS

This is the top secret part. We found a local connection, built into the foundations of our business and noticed the unbelievable similarities between the prospective partnership and that our our own.

We decided that this must be our theme. Our re-packaging, redesign and customisation of this Bobber will be iconic, celebratory and in line with the brief, as well as Triumph’s and the partners own values.

The incredible design opportunities that this theme then gave us were endless. We had to tone it down.

OUR INSPIRATION: 3: OUTCOME

Image

  1. We built our ideas from the success of the Bonneville Bobber & our previous custom projects, inspiration and research.
  2. We collaborated as a team to ignite creativity and involve the customising skills of our team.
Image
  1. We integrated design ideas using both Triumph and non-Triumph accessories
  2. We made sure to include a vast array of personalisation options available, not only for the Bobber, but from the overall category of the modern classic range, using Street Twin and Speedmaster parts
Image

  1. Promoted the build across communications channels

  2. Involved our customers

  3. Saw an opportunity to get feedback, design ideas, public preferences and begin the interest

OUR BOBBER BUILD OFF THEME...

Triumph bobber build off

“MADE IN GLASGOW FROM GIRDERS”

Triumph Glasgow have decided on an Irn-Bru theme, re-packaging the Triumph Bonneville Bobber using Irn-Bru’s most iconic symbol of the last 100 years, and to celebrate the 10 year Anniversary of the re-launched Heritage can.

triumph tank design custom

Brushed / Polished Aluminium Finish, on tank & fenders. Similar to above, with a silver fleck through the clear lacquer over the aluminium finish on tank and fenders.

On tank only have “cut through” graphics, like portholes; built into the curves of the tank where knee pads go, which make it look like you can see into the tank, and that it’s running on Irn-Bru.

Using the owner of Irn-Bru's company logo "Barr's" integrated with Bob-"Barr". We'd like to include elements of the heritage Irn-Bru logo, as well as the Irn-Bru man.
