Tyre Recommendations for your Triumph

As a rider, you know that not all tyres are the same. Being the only part of a bike that is in contact with the ground, the right tyres can make a difference to your ride by increasing grip which improves braking, steering and your overall safety.

Did you know?

  • After fitting new tyres, you will have to take it easy for at least the first 100 miles. Running in tyres is an important safety factor and it is recommended that tyres should not be used under full speed or power for 100 miles.
  • Around 70% of the world’s Carbon Black pigment is used for making tyres.
  • It is important to not over-inflate tyres as tyre pressure increases when tyres are hot.
  • Under-inflated tyres don’t just affect handling, but can also increase fuel consumption.
  • A conservative riding style will help preserve tyres.

  • Motorcycle Tyres fitted while you wait.
  • We buy tyres in larger quantities and pass the savings on to you.
  • A typical year for our technicians sees us fit somewhere around 1,200 tyres!

When you squeeze that into such a short season like the one in the UK - you can guess how busy we can get in the workshop... just fitting tyres

The legal bit you really should know

Your tyre tread depth should be at least 2mm (a minimum of 1mm legal requirement) over the tyre’s circumference across at least three quarters of the width of the tread.
Tyres with excessive wear can cost you a £60 fine per tyre and even more costly, 3 points on your licence.
Last but not least, your safety is of paramount importance. There is no point scrimping on tyres, after all, they are what hold you on the road in every circumstance - so why take the chance?

We fit tyres on almost any make or model.

Whether it's for a Triumph or not, we carry a wide selection of tyres in stock at any one time. We have the most popular sizes in stock and will have someone on hand to give you advice if you are not sure which make or type you are using or the best for your type of riding. Even if you are needing slick tyres for track use - we can supply them too.

If we don't have them in stock?

No matter which make of tyre you prefer we can usually have them delivered to us by courier 'next day' (including Saturday although additional courier rates apply) So if you are a bit stuck and need one fast, let us know and we will do our best to help.

How much does it cost to fit a tyre?

Well that depends... We can price the job a couple of different ways: -

1. You bring us the bike and we fit one or both tyres for you. All you need to do is relax & wait in our coffee area upstairs.
2. You bring us the 'loose' wheels and we change the tyres for you. Again we have a Café at your disposal but you normally won't be waiting long.

Rest assured, all of our work is of the highest standard and quality checked before it leaves the premises.

What about the effect on the environment?
We pay to have all of our old tyres disposed of properly so you don't need to worry.
